With over four decades of experience in canine breeding, Tanya Stringer, CG, M.Div, has dedicated her career to uncovering the intricacies of breeding and the hereditary factors that contribute to the health and vitality of dogs. As co-owner of Alfheim-Andromeda Chihuahuas, Tanya has established a highly successful breeding program in Central New York, producing numerous AKC champions, grand champions, and Register of Merit (R.O.M.) dogs. Her educational background includes certifications in Genealogical Studies, Canine Reproduction, Animal Management, and a Master's in Divinity focusing on Buddhist Studies. She actively participates in research at institutions like Cornell University and UC Berkeley, contributing to canine heart health and longevity studies. She has mentored dozens of breeders and hosts an annual breeder's education conference, integrating hands-on learning with scientific theory in courses like "Basic Canine Breeding." Tanya firmly believes that "breeding better means breeding healthier" and aims to elevate the breeding profession through education and community support. As the founder of the Canine Breeding Sciences Academy and organizer of an annual Echocardiogram Health Clinic, she is passionate about improving the genetic health of canine populations and restoring pride and compassion back into responsible breeding.
