The Course

EBVs are calculated using complex genetic algorithms that take into account the genetic information of the parents and ancestors of a given dog. These values provide an estimate of how likely it is for the offspring to inherit certain desirable traits. By utilizing EBVs, breeders can select breeding pairs that are more likely to produce healthy and high-quality puppies, ultimately leading to an improvement in the overall breed standard.
